Privacy Policy

Millwright Companion Pro (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a field toolkit for industrial millwrights and mechanics. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why it is collected, and how it is handled. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) and other applicable Canadian privacy laws.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. This is used for sign-in, account management, and (if you contact us) to reply to your request.
  • Work data you enter. The App lets you create and save content such as calculation inputs, reference lookups, job logs, equipment notes, and checklists. This data is linked to your account so you can access it across sessions and devices. You can edit or delete this data at any time from within the App, or by deleting your account.
  • Photos you upload. If you attach photos to a job log, those images are stored securely and are only accessible to you (and account administrators where applicable). Photos are used solely to support the job log entry you created.
  • Sync and usage data. To keep your data available across sessions and devices, the App transmits and stores your content on our servers. We also retain limited technical records (such as sign-in time) needed to operate the service.
  • Device and technical information. When you use the App, we may collect basic device information (such as device type, operating system version, and app version) and standard request logs needed to deliver the service, maintain security, and troubleshoot issues.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate your sign-in;
  • Store, sync, and display the work data and photos you enter;
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the App and its features;
  • Diagnose technical problems and protect the App against misuse or security threats;
  • Respond to your support requests and communications.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use your personal information for advertising. The App does not display ads and does not share your data with advertising networks.
  • We do not use your work data for any purpose other than providing the App to you.

4. Third-party services

To operate the App we rely on the following categories of third-party service providers, each of which receives only the data necessary to perform its function:

  • Cloud hosting and data storage for your account and work data;
  • Authentication services for sign-in and account security;
  • Payment processing when applicable, to handle any future paid plans;
  • Email delivery for account-related messages such as verification and password resets.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security standards. A current list of specific services is available on request.

5. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account information and work data for as long as your account is active. You can edit or delete individual records at any time from within the App. Deleting your account removes your work data and personal information from the App. Some records may be retained in backups for a limited period as part of normal service operations, or where required by law.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission and access controls that limit data to you and authorized administrators. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

7. Your rights under PIPEDA

Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access it, and to request correction. You may also withdraw consent and request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

  • Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Withdrawal of consent: disable your account or delete your data;
  • Complaints: you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for use by industrial trades professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 15. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Offline use

The App is designed to work offline. Your work data is stored locally on your device and synchronized with our servers when a connection is available. Account and sync data are transmitted only when needed to keep your content available to you.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page, with the updated date shown above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
